Electrotherapy in Marrickville

Electrotherapy treatment at Kinesis Physiotherapy Marrickville

Electrotherapy may be used as part of a broader physiotherapy treatment plan to support pain management, comfort and recovery. At Kinesis Physiotherapy & Wellness Clinic, electrotherapy, including interferential therapy, may be used where clinically appropriate based on your assessment, symptoms and goals.

What Is Electrotherapy?

Electrotherapy involves the use of controlled electrical stimulation applied through pads placed on the skin. In physiotherapy, it may be used to support pain relief, muscle comfort and recovery in selected presentations. Your physiotherapist will determine whether electrotherapy is appropriate as part of your overall treatment plan.

When Electrotherapy May Be Used

  • Muscle and joint pain
  • Back or neck discomfort

  • Shoulder or knee pain

  • Soft tissue irritation

  • Pain management support

  • Muscle tension or guarding
  • Recovery after injury
  • Comfort during rehabilitation

How Electrotherapy Fits Into Your Treatment Plan

Electrotherapy is not usually used as a standalone treatment. It may be combined with assessment, education, hands-on physiotherapy, exercise rehabilitation, movement retraining and home exercises to support your recovery and return to activity.
