Pneumatic Compression Therapy in Marrickville

Pneumatic compression therapy uses inflatable compression sleeves to apply controlled pressure to the legs or other selected areas. At Kinesis Physiotherapy & Wellness Clinic, pneumatic compression may be used as part of a broader physiotherapy treatment plan where clinically appropriate.
It may be considered for selected presentations involving swelling, recovery needs, fluid management or circulation-related support. Your physiotherapist will assess your symptoms, medical history and goals before deciding whether this treatment is suitable for you.
How Pneumatic Compression May Be Used
Pneumatic compression therapy may be considered for selected presentations involving swelling, fluid management, recovery needs or circulation-related support. The treatment involves placing a sleeve around the relevant area, such as the leg or arm, which then inflates and deflates in a controlled pattern.
It is not used as a stand-alone solution. At Kinesis, pneumatic compression may be combined with assessment, education, movement advice, strengthening, mobility exercises and other physiotherapy treatments where appropriate.
What to Expect During Treatment
During treatment, your physiotherapist will position the compression sleeve over the selected area and set the appropriate pressure and treatment duration. You may feel gentle pressure as the sleeve inflates and relaxes.
Treatment should feel comfortable. Your physiotherapist will monitor your response and adjust the treatment if needed.
